Location often plays a big role when it comes to choosing a home — and I want your new neighborhood to have everything you’re looking for and more! It’s important to find a neighborhood you love that will serve your needs for many years to come. Do you enjoy morning walks with your dog or spending time with neighbors at backyard BBQ’s? Do you often stop at your favorite coffee shop on your drive to work? Or do you prefer to catch up on your reading during your bus or subway commute?

When deciding which neighborhood would be a good fit, you should start by assessing your daily lifestyle and routine. From there, you may want to consider a few other factors, including:

  • Commute Time
This is a great place to start refining your search, as you may want to take into consideration how far you’re willing to commute. Consider doing a few test drives during different times of the day, including peak traffic hours, to get a better feel of what your commute time may be. Do you prefer to walk, bike or ride public transportation instead? If so, check to see if alternative transportation options are available in the areas you’re looking.
  • Schools
Whether or not you have children, a home’s proximity to a desirable district could benefit you years down the road, as homes located within those areas may maintain good resale values. If you do have children, finding a home near a school you love makes it easier to walk your kids to school or drop them off on your way to work — avoiding rush hour in the process!
  • Nearby Amenities
Do you prefer to live near restaurants, grocery stores and other conveniences? Do you spend a lot of time outdoors? If so, having easy access to those amenities or nearby parks would be a great perk in a new home! Spend time researching what a neighborhood has to offer and consider what nearby conveniences are most important to you.
  • Affordability
Every city and town has sought-after neighborhoods where people are eager to buy — which often comes with a higher price tag as well. No matter your budget, there are so many wonderful areas offering charm, community and other conveniences that can fit your needs and lifestyle. If you’re interested in learning more about the average home prices in a desired neighborhood, I am happy to provide further insight into current market trends.

Lastly, remember you may not be able to find a neighborhood that has it all, and that’s okay! As a real estate agent, I would love to help you find a neighborhood that is perfect for you, no matter your price range. Please contact me today to lean more. More home buying tips can be found here.
